"Transforming equine partnerships for the betterment of horse and rider"
Hi everyone! My name is Kelly Hicks. I'm an equine professional based in Waxhaw, North Carolina with over 15 years of experience in both Western and English riding styles.
Although I believe I was born loving horses, my passion was truly able to begin when I started riding at five years old. My professional training career started with an internship out at a ranch that specializes in colt starting and horsemanship. I worked at this facility for four years and learned the profound importance of starting horses correctly balanced from the ground, up. I believe this leads to the most trustworthy and fulfilling relationships with your equine partner.

In addition to this incredible opportunity, I have had numerous learning experiences from many other well-educated horsemen and women. Among my mentors, I consider the legendary horsemen Buck Brannaman, Tom Dorrance, and Ray Hunt to be my idols. Their revolutionary techniques and philosophies have not only helped me to develop my own skills, but also inspired me to pursue a lifelong dedication to the art of horsemanship.

Through all of these learnings, I developed the belief that true horsemanship is about creating a deeper connection with your horse and strengthening the bond between you. My training approach focuses on building trust and respect between you and your equine partner, resulting in a confident and well-tuned partnership.
Nowadays, my focus is on providing top-notch horsemanship training, colt starting, and engaging lessons for both children and adults. If you're looking to improve your horsemanship skills, feel free to get in touch and find out how I can assist you!
